So you bought a kettlebell...READ THIS FIRST! There are quite a few books out there on Kettlebell Training, but this one beats them all. It is Clear, Precise and offers many practical tips that other books don't even mention.

I'm a 62-year-old man who averted imminent knee replacement surgery through kettlebell training. The training manual is concise, comprehensive and utilitarian. I recommend it for anyone serious about kettlebell training.

Taco has made painstaking efforts to think from the perspective of the newcomer, and taken nothing for granted. Pretty much every question you might have, if you are new to kettlebells, is answered here. Not only answered, but the reasoning behind it is explained in detail, with explanations that go into biomechanics and human physiology.

★★★★★Jay Kipperman

Customer avoided knee replacement surgery through kettlebell strengthening. Praises Taco Fleur's approach, YouTube tutorials, and training manual as concise, comprehensive and utilitarian, recommending it as essential for serious kettlebell practitioners.

This book is excellent and laid out perfectly. Such as Taco teached you the very basic and often overlooked techniques of actually holding the bell to basic movements (the foundations of working with kettlebells) then progresses nicely to more technical moves and finally workouts and challenges. Since using this book I have been able to train with kettlebells correctly and injury free. Highly recommend this very detailed book.

Dear all, I have been using kettlebels for about 8 years and I reached some kind of limit where I couldn't progress more. When I bought Taco's book I got some new insights. First I haven't understood the idea but having to read the book several times and trying to do excercises, specially doing scorecard, I realized how to move forward. Not only I have been progressing, I have again Gaines new motivation in my 50's. I am very grateful. Regards, Ivan

I've been trying to find info and learn kettlebells for some time on Internet, found this book and it has changed it all for me. The information and detail on it has made me a follower of the Caveman workouts and I'll be adding more books to my collection for sure.

Simple yet significant! As a budding kettlebell enthusiast and coach, I found Mr. Fleur's book easy to understand. I appreciated the multiple angle pictures and the real life examples that the author included that really helped me build on my understanding and cueing for myself and my clients. I will definitely be checking out his other books and even certificates. Thank you Mr. Fleur.

Anyone wishing to learn the fundamentals of kettlebell training should read Taco Fleur's ebook Kettlebell Basics Training. The book is clearly explained and simple to follow, and it includes thorough illustrations that show how to complete each task. Taco does a great job of outlining the advantages of kettlebell training and offers readers a thorough manual to assist in creating a secure and efficient exercise regimen. The book contains advice on how to adapt each exercise to fit different ability levels and covers a variety of exercises, from fundamental swings and squats to more complex moves. This ebook's obvious progression of exercises, with each movement building on the one before it, is one of its strongest points. Beginners can start out quickly and gradually develop their power and skill thanks to this. For anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of kettlebell training, Kettlebell Basics Training is an excellent resource. It is well-written, simple to read, and full of useful information and suggestions that will help readers make the most of their workouts.

I ordered this ebook after finishing the online course kettleebell premium. This book is a very good introduction and summary to do a kettlebell training effective and safe. For me with a long experience in fitness but as a rather beginner in kettlebell traing the course and the book is an ideal combination to dive into the topic for effective progress in kettlebell training and have a correct and safe performance.

★★★★★Brendan Everingham

The fundamentals ebook helped break down movements for clients and provided valuable grip variations.

★★★★★Brendan Everingham

I have been using KB for a few years now and I considered myself pretty good. I bought this book because I had a bit of trouble breaking down the movements for a clinet. I got exactly what I was after in this book. My client if well on his way to a good swing and in a couple of weeks we will advance to the clean. I was intrigued by some of the grips and tips given in the book. Taco Fleur has a passion that is quite evident with his ability to make a complex thing easy. Every page is no fluff and to the point and useful. I was on the gym floor trying out the grips, flicking around the heavy bells like they were weightless, trying the thumbs up method, this grip, that grip, snatching 2 heavy KB like they were the light ones, they felt weightless. Just a few tweaks to my form and I was able to get more out of my hip drive. Something I didn't expect. I thought my technique was already good. I had Personal Trainers ask me where I learnt this stuff, their clients wanted to be able to do that themselves, it is a raw display of power that looks impressive, they want to do it. This book is a brilliant starting point for a beginner and a perfect tool for the professional. These tips will absolutely be passed on to my clients. Using these cues anyone can learn how to progress safely and effectively. I will certainly be looking at the other material. This material is highly valuable, a must read for anyone interested in kettlebells.

Valuable source of info - will use for many years to come...

Very detailed, but I would have preferred a progressive program for this. Still, for its price there is a lot of info and variation. Recommend 5/5 for anyone starting out.

When I started researching about functional training I came across kettlebell training which perfectly suited every need I have. I wanted to start from square one to avoid injury. This book provides valuable information for a novice like myself. I refer back to it regularly when I have questions or want to ensure myself that I'm doing things properly.

This book is a joke. It is an extremely overpriced brochure that provides very limited amount of useful information but entices the reader to buy other brochures of the same author. It is supposed to be an introduction to KB world. Instead you get the following: - ONLY 140 pages of A5 format with some text and black and white photos of bad quality - 40 out of 140 pages are devoted to various types of grips and which ones to be used with different exercises (this does not help since the beginner reader has no idea about different exercises). It should have been limited to the top 3 grips and associated exercises - Basic exercises are poorly explained in a very confused manner - The brochure makes lots of references to other brochures of the same "author" (poor cross selling) - The book has links to videos, which has long web addresses that need to be typed. Some videos are not available at all - The book quality is very poor and it gives an impression of being simply pulled together in Word processor and printed on a home printer - Poor English, seems that no editing took place - Overpriced (16 euro) Conclusion: waste of money and waste of time reading it.

I received a complementary copy of this e-book when I purchased Taco's Udemy course "Kettlebell Training Premium Edition" . I am very glad it was included as it provides a wealth of knowledge about the kettlebell that is especially helpful to beginners such as myself.

★★★★★Peter Cockcroft

Easy to use and full of useful information and techniques

Sonia

The translation is incredibly poor — sentences that make no sense, repetitive phrasing. It undermines the author's content. I tried to read it in English but it was still hard to follow the Spanish version.

If only it includes single hand swings as well.

Amazing book from a Kettlebell master! I have been working out with kettlebells for a few years and this book helped me a lot to step up my technique and my over all knowledge. It helped me a lot with teaching to other peoples, specially with non athletic people who want to get into this training method. This book should be read by any trainer who give kettlebell exercise to there clients or anyone who do kb training!

Kettlebell workouts have been critical stress relief for me and my friends during the pandemic. I've had several of Taco's books (Fundamentals, as well as Workouts & Challenges 1.0 & 2.0) sitting on a shelf at home for a few years, but when gyms closed here in Los Angeles it was a catalyst to start working through them seriously. The material is easy to follow and there's a great variety of programming that's kept me entertained, enhanced mobility, and helped to build strength - bonus is that swinging a kettlebell makes it so much easier to swing my ~40 lb three year old who's constantly begging to be thrown in the air :-D I got stoked enough about kettlebell workouts that I've started hosting a weekly 'Sunday Funday Caveman WOD' with some of the guys in my neighborhood - we're having enough fun being backyard animals that it's hard to see wanting to go back to the gym once COVID passes. Thank you!

Anna and Taco: I almost never answer these requests but your product, teaching, insight is so very superior I felt I should reply. The book as excellent organization and really brings to the foreground the important, in great detail. I own the digital edition and as a result, have easy access to videos offered, which are very helpful. The book has very good instructional pictures. I have nothing negative to say; I think what your are doing and promoting, is very high quality, especially in my view of the world. I really enjoyed the snatch camp and after I figured out my video capabilities, I found your instructional advice very helpful, timely and supportive. I'm still practicing and will probably redo the camp later this year. The snatch is not as easy to complete as you make it look; instruction is crucial. The Kettlebell Training Fundamentals was very helpful during the snatch camp and for supportive during my otherwise simple KB workout. I plan on expanding my KB exercise program. Please keep up the good work!

I enjoyed reading this book on many levels. It is passionately written, it is funny, personable and relatable, but it is also a very valuable, thought-provoking reference book, based on years of practical experience. It is a superb book for a kettlebell enthusiast as well as a useful fuel for thought for a kettlebell and fitness coach. I have followed Taco's work before finding this book and I knew that it would be a valuable resource even before I bought it. The book didn't disappoint. It is full of interesting tidbits and Taco's own inventions and conclusions that helped in further refining my own coaching philosophy and methods. Whether you agree with everything in the book 100%, or not, Taco presents his thoughts and methods in such a way as to provide a starting point and a useful framework to enable and inspire the reader to experiment and find out the right way for themselves. All in all, I am a better athlete and coach after reading this book. Thanks Taco!

This was an excellent read. The level of detailed instruction that Taco provides in this book is simply unparalleled in the fitness industry. I've been looking for a comprehensive resource on kettlebell fundamentals for a long time now, and I've finally found it. As a long-time athlete making the transition to kettlebells, I would highly recommend this book!

I am just starting the process of learning and training with kettlebell, as I follow the instructions to advance I discover that I really bought the most appropriate ebook for my beginner condition; It contains clear information, very ordered and detailed, and with links to videos, full of advice that should not be overlooked, especially to avoid hurting and progressing safely. In addition, the support provided by Taco is really five stars. Kettlebell Training Fundamentals is a fun and great book!

Phenominal book. Not long started kettlebells myself. Working to becoming a kb couch. And have been looking for something to guide the more intricate parts of kb training. And this is the one. Alot of good information. One of the things for me when buying a book is first looking at the contents page. If there is alot of content and each one is relevent to your studies then it is a good book. And this book has it all. For anyone who is starting off or wants to fine tune your skills this is the book to buy. Without a doubt, i will be buying the rest of taco fluers books.

This is a very well written book. I have used kettlebells for a few years but after reading this book I realize that I was not benefiting from the full potential due to lack of technique. This book is a must have for beginners as well as self taught kettlebell enthusiasts.

Great book to begin with the kettlebell. Grande libro, completo ed esaustivo. Consigliato sia per chi vuole iniziare e per chi ha già iniziato

★★★★★Jacob

I love books by Taco. They help me be a better teacher and practitioner of Kettlebell training!

★★★★★Chris Abraham

Solid, interesting, advanced, but maybe too dependent on links to external resources. I am glad I read this book because Taco Fleur is an expert. This book isn't for beginners. It makes a lot of assumptions but also gives a lot of advice. Maybe best suited for trainers.

Dave Murray

This short book was an unexpected jewel. Most kettlebell instruction pays little attention to the grip and why you might choose one over another for a given exercise. For the most part he covers them in his other books but it was worth the modest price to get me thinking about grips. Coverage of the rack is good.

★★★★★Dave Murray

A very good book on the things that form an effective and safe foundation for training with a kettlebell.

★★★★★Andrew G.

A resource that can take you from A to Z in terms of your kettlebell dreams. From general ideas to those itty bitty details that can determine thriving vs injury, this book has it all. I really appreciate the icon coding key and layout which helps find relevant level of detail on a given subject a breeze. The images and video links are beyond helpful. Totally worth every penny. A reference to return to year after year!

Subsequent to obtaining the free copy of 'Kettlebells for complete beginners—first day' purchasing 'Kettlebell Training Fundamentals Ebook' was a logical step. Obviously there is some overlap, but the latter covers so much more and, again, in great detail and very in-depth. Highly recommended by renowned kettlebell trainers, and now by me -for what that is worth- as well.

★★★★★Ashley Eusden

Very informative.

★★★★★Jerome Hartzog

Taco Fleur illustrates and explains in detail the proper technique for beneficial kettlebell training. He has become an internet sensation and is viewed world wide on social media. I really enjoy his instruction and motivation regarding kettlebell use in his book: Kettlebell Training Fundamentals.

★★★★★Russell Allchin

Great book, after teaching and using Kettlebells for years, I still found relevant and helpful information in this book. Taco explains everything in an easy way to understand so great for anyone new to Kettlebell lifting. Definite must have for your collection. Teaching points and cues are spot on. Great job Taco .

★★★★★pug

I think buying this book is well worth it. It provides descriptions of the many styles of grips and movements that any newbie, or not-so-newbie, would find helpful. The chapters also include everything from proper progression for kettlebell weight to how to identify aches and pains from improper form. I highly recommend it. And go check out Caveman Training online. Taco Fleur is a wealth of information.

★★★★★Cas

I have been training allready with kettlebells. Reading and practicing the information from the book gives a good and solid foundation for your kettlebell training at home. It is a perfect tool to train your strength, flexibility and endurance but you got to have the basics. The course from cavemantraining is very detailed, it is a trainer in your hand. You can not completely shut out a trainer but this course give more than others. It is a course with passion for teaching and passion for the kettlebell. Kettlebells are very usefull tools for training at home because you don't need a lot of room, but you have to treat the kettlebells with respect. You have to practice the techniques and handle them with care because an injury is not for away when you're not taking attention. Cavemantraining gives you everything you need to use them safely. The internet is exploded with information but cavemantraining will give you everything you need.

★★★★★Herman Kaljo

Taco Fleur went above and beyond putting together this book on Kettlebell Training Fundamentals. With over twelve years of kettlebell training experience Taco Fleur has garnered a wide range of expertise on kettlebell training, and through his Cavemantraining website and very popular Youtube channel, has established himself as one of the go-to authorities on the subject. This book functions as a perfect guide for any novice or intermediate kettlebell lifter, as it in a very detailed manner, yet in a language that is easily comprehendable, explains the 101 of kettlebell training. The book is divided into chapters covering the philosophy of kettlebell training, safety precautions to stay injury free when training with kettlebells, importance of proper warm-up, various grips employed during training, instructions for the two-arm swing, cleaning and racking a kettlebell, experiencing types of pain while training with kettlebell and what to do about it, the "golden rules" of kettlebell training, and much more. Definitely a book I can recommend to any kettlebell enthusiast!

★★★★★Martin

An excellent book which is very informative.

Book Review: Kettlebell Training Fundamentals by Taco Fleur Until about five years ago I had never even heard of a kettlebell. And then, while being exposed to crossfit, I saw a kettlebell and thought I might like to train with one someday. Unfortunately, the gym I was going to wouldn’t even buy a kettlebell when I asked about it. Now, a few years later, I’m in a new gym that is stocked with kettlebells and I needed to learn what to do with them. That’s how I was exposed to Taco Fleur and his online training programs. In his new book, Kettlebell Training Fundamentals, Taco covers the basics of kettlebell training and shows how training is different from just simply working out. The book progresses to showing how to safely use a kettlebell and covers a brief review of human anatomy in the context of kettlebell training. A large portion of this book covers the different grips that can be used when training with a kettlebell and of course each is shown in a full color illustration. This was the section where I learned the most, as I really never even thought about the differences and importance of proper grips when training with a kettlebell. The final sections of this book cover the individual exercises to be used in a kettlebell training program and ending with a section on kettlebell stretching techniques to be used when finishing with a kettlebell training program. Overall, this is a concise but well illustrated book that will give anyone wishing to start on a kettlebell training program the information they need without having to go to a gym and pay for a professional instructor.

★★★★★Jamie Hunter

Wow, what a great book. I was expected a narrow view of training with kettlebells from a strict one way or the highway mindset but, this book delivers an open minded, comprehensive and well thought out approach to training and exercise with a kettlebell. The general emphasis is perfect for a beginner to intermediate user and what is particularly great are the detailed explanations of the whys and hows of using kettlebells to develop a well balanced, strong, mobile and lean body. The author explains in the simplest to understand terms (no techno jargon here) how the reader can execute a wide variety of movements suitable for everyday people looking for a durable physique. In addition, safety tips, progressions and regressions are offered too. Very clearly, Taco is a vey experienced and passionate kettlebell trainer and many kettlebell enthusiasts will enjoy this book.

★★★★★Derek

This book is packed full of excellent information. A great tool for the new kettlebell user all the way to the seasoned veteran! Taco has a way of breaking down the basics of the kettlebell workout that anyone can understand and leaves nothing up to questions. The passion he has for making sure that the kettlebell is understood and used appropriately is apparent in ever chapter of this book. I highly recommend this for anyone who is looking to further their understanding of the kettlebell! This information starts out very basic with, what and how kettlebells work with your body. Breaking it down to the foundation of the science behind the techniques. For anyone looking to taking their training to the next level, this paired with Taco's website cavemantraining.com are invaluable tools. -Derek...1 month kettlebell user

★★★★★m. johnson

Great book. Started with kettlebells only 4 months ago and I love it. Got burned out on the crowds and the prices of gym memberships. I love the fact that you can combine cardio and strength training with just one kettlebell. This book along with the videos that Taco provides are all you need to build a proper foundation for kettlebell training.

★★★★★Rachel

A must have for every trainers and kettlebell enthusiast! High quality information on movements, drills, and corrections. I highly recommend this book!

★★★★★bartfitness

Kettlebell training Fundamentals thoroughly covers all topics you need to know before training with kettlebells, like safety, warming up and cool down, technique of common exercises etc. As a personal trainer and certified kettlebell trainer (since 2010) I was particularly impressed with the huge chapter on kettlebell grips. This subject is often only briefly mentioned as "keep a loose grip and open hand position". In most kettlebell teaching and literature not enough time nor "space" is spend on it. I sure have work to do to get familiar and proficient in using the many grip options to keep improving as a kettlebell trainer. I fully support Taco Fleur in being specific about naming exercises correctly to remove confusion in program design and understanding of basic technique like swing clean vs hang clean, or swing hip hinge style vs swing squat style. I love his attention to help people make up their mind themselves rather than being dogmatic about a common discussion topic in the kettlebell world: Russian and American swing. With the ample video links and simple yet effective cueing, plenty of opportunity exists to improve yourself or help you teach your clients. Eg. "delay breaking at the hips as long as possible when the KB starts to fall down in the Kettlebell swing." No one has ever mentioned it that simple to me. So do not waste your time trying to figure it out for yourself. Buy the book now and save yourself pain and frustration when training with kettlebells. I would be a much stronger and better kettlebell trainer if I had access to this wealth of information years ago. Thanks Taco Fleur Bart Brys Kettlebell trainer and personal trainer

★★★★★Marius

With the Kettlebell Training Fundamentals book, Taco Fleur made visible that he's a top kettlebell coach in Europe. He breaks down basic patterns and movements like hand insert, rack holds, grips variations, overhead lockouts and many others, including safety principles, progressions and regressions with the clarity of a premier strength and conditioning expert. Having trained myself with kettlebell for several years, then having a break for 2 years, I find this book to be an absolute read for any trainee (beginner or not) that is thinking about including kettlebells in their own training regimen. This book, together with the tutorials included (via links to youtube videos) and with the other books (free or not) written by Taco Fleur will fill in all the blanks anyone will have at all the fundamentals of this wonderful tool called the Kettlebell. He really goes the extra mile. Lefter Marius

Very well done simple and to the point !

★★★★★ricksilcott

How to start... Written by an athlete teacher, he starts out by explaining his philosophy in training and of his writing style, seeing the tone for the rest of the book... Great focus is placed on grips, an all too often neglected subject in the world of kettlebells. This well organized book covers individual exercises, stretching, training issues, and so much more. Grouped with Taco's YouTube channel and the wealth of info on the website, no other info is needed... Although Taco would probably be the first to tell you to sell as much knowledge as possible. This book has reignited my passion for kettlebell training, thank you Taco.

★★★★★jimbo

If you're looking to build a solid foundation on which to develop your kettlebell technique, this book is an excellent resource. It takes you through the basic anatomy of the kettlebell and advice on what to buy. Then it goes on to racking, cleaning and my personal favourite, a very detailed look at grips. Also covered in the book are helpful sections on pain and stretching. Taco writes in a no nonsense way, which is easy to understand and follow. His step by step sections with bullet points are helpful too. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in kettlebells- a very useful resource.

★★★★★Ewan Brown

I've been following your YouTube programs and then got onto your website, this is where I saw your book, I read it yesterday and it made a huge difference to how I intend to approach using kettle bells. I realise I've got some work to do on the basics but I found the book easy to follow and am determined to master the fundamentals of grip, range, transitions and correctly engaging at the right time to maximise the exercise. With the book and your instructional videos I'm looking forward to improving my workouts, thanks for putting this book out, for me as a beginner it is technically informative and very well put together.

★★★★★Rita WSC

So you bought a kettlebell...READ THIS FIRST! I’ve been into kettlebells for a short time but have jumped in head first and haven’t looked back. I own several books and apps and watched countless videos on YouTube. The results I have received from using kettlebells is better than I could have hoped. But enough of the value of kettlebells; this is a review about a book. One of the most instructional sources I have found is Cavemantraining. I came here last because I thought it would be mostly Crossfit with a nod to kettlebell training and I currently do not do Crossfit. What I found was great instruction and the kind of passion for kettlebells that I would look for in an instructor. This book covers it all and covers it clearly. Kettlebell training can actually be fun but must be treated with respect. Videos can make it look so easy that one can get complacent which can lead to getting hurt. Kettlebell training can give results quickly and dynamically which can be very exciting and satisfying. But kettlebell training must be done safely and this book will give you what you need. You will not only learn the how but more importantly the why. I find myself looking for all the information I can get. When I’m not working with my bells I’m checking YouTube and other sources for anything I can find. Cavemantraining is a great source that has never let me down.

★★★★★buikdans

Great book, lots of information, enjoyable read! Why? From the first pages in the book onwards I got the impression Taco really knows what he is talking about, and is very passionate about the subject. Also, I can identify myself with the mindset of the writer in regards to why and when to use certain training regimes / approaches and always keep learning from all possible sources. Furthermore the writer demonstrates a deep knowledge about the technical aspect of using kettlebells, but is able to translate it in a way that will appeal to both novice and advanced kettlebell enthusiasts. As a professional dancer with a spinal fusion, I am always seeking new ways to work out, and using kettlebells is one of them. Everything that makes my core and back muscles stronger, is an investment in my future. I love a full body workout to stay strong in every possible way and incorporate yoga, kungfu, pilates, eccentric exercises, bodyweight circuit training, and also kettlebells in my daily workouts next to my dance career. As in all training and workouts, it is necessary to keep exercises safe and effective, and Taco really gives the right amount of attention to this in the book. The tips, exercises and extra information given here, are all suitable for everyone. We are all different with different background in sports and/or previous sports. As a smaller woman, and a dancer, I did find this book very helpful. I like the side notes about how women can adapt some exercises. And because of my physical history I firmly believe that everyone needs to keep their body safe. This is a common theme in the book, which I can only applaud. Body awareness is very important. While focussing on how to do it right, he also speaks about pain, how to recognise, handle and prevent it. This is a thing that you don't often find in books or video's, while it's very important. One should always respect his/her body and take baby steps before walking or running. Taco guides you safely step by step into the fascinating world of kettlebells and I am definitely hooked! From how to hold them correctly, train with them safely and explain a lot about the muscles you use and why to use them, it perfectly covers information for total beginners up to advanced kettlebell users who want as much in depth info as possible. This is a gem! Johanna Rediers

I really liked the book. Unlike some e-books that look shoddily put together it’s obvious some time and care has been put into this. Very well laid out, lovely colour photos & diagrams illustrating details on different exercises. The whole thing has a quality “feel”. As for content, it’s right up there with anything I’ve read on kettlebell training. Ideal for a beginner to get them up and running with kettlebell training and tons of details on the finer points of techniques, particularly the section on grips, which even an intermediate or more experienced user can learn from. It also has a ton of links to demonstration videos of the techniques covered. Touches on training philosophies, goal setting and programming also. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone starting out with kettlebells or wanting to improve their technique / skills and take their training up a level.

If you find KETTLEBELL TRAINING FUNDAMENTALS early enough in your kettlebell journey, consider yourself very lucky! There is no shortage of books, tutorials and courses available on the interwebs so it's difficult to know which to buy. This is actually the third kb book I have acquired and now I am kicking myself for not getting it first! This is the definitive guide to the "what, why, and how" of everything you could ever want or need to know about going from novice to advanced kettlebell proficiency. Earlier this year I had aggravated an old lower back/disc injury that caused excruciating pain for months. This was caused by running through an airport with a 60 lb carryon bag across my chest. This was quite an embarrassing way to injure oneself! Since I have an office job, I find myself sitting at a desk most of the day and have become weak in core strength. Also I do have a family and other commitments that take most of my free time. The long term affect has been that I get stiff muscles and joints and frankly just out of shape. Because I was a collegiate athlete, I have been training with barbells and dumbbells and some machines for over 20 years. Eventually I found that I was uninspired to go in for hours and hours every week to get minimal gains. This is why I have been searching for a functional way to condense my workouts while also increasing my metabolism, strength and overall fitness. Although there are a ton of videos online showing the benefits of kettlebells, my biggest concern was that I would go whole hog into it and injure my lower back like i had done earlier this year. What I like most about is the books layout is that it offers a progressive foundation all the way from the what the kettlebell can do for you, how to choose the right one for what you want, stretches and warm-up to avoid injury (very important to me) all the way to some pretty unique and exotic maneuvers that I am excited to work my way up to. My only regret is that I did not find and buy this sooner!

Cavemantraining's book arms readers with detailed technical guidance for kettlebell training, including explanations, pictures of different kettlebell grips, proper hip hinge, and the difference between American vs. Russian swing—I didn’t even know there was such a distinction! The construct of the book is not limited to technique, but also provides additional understanding as to the importance, purpose, and definition of what is considered good form among a variety of kettlebell exercises. I would recommend this book to the kettlebell trainer or enthusiast looking to understand the mechanics of kettlebell training beyond a general understanding.

An extremely insightful and descriptive read Taco has taken the principles and fundamental aspects of kettlebell training and laid them down in an easy and detailed manner. The information contained with these pages will aid any kettlebell user in becoming more efficient using this versatile tool. The detailed instructions of hand position and racking the bell alone, with the hints and tip on safety, will ensure that any reader will be able to use kettlebells in an effective and safe manner, to ensure the best results. On a personnel note, I'm self-taught from various books and videos. All of which strongly focus on the exercise and the program, while only briefly covering the hand, rack and safety issues faced by any kettlebell user. I would strongly recommend this book to any kettlebell users regardless of the experience. Craig Richardson

Nowadays, kettlebells are becoming recognized as a versatile method of achieving one's goals in physical fitness. However, there is insufficient literature on the techniques and intricacies of this very effective piece of fitness equipment. That's where Taco Fleur's new book, entitled 'Kettlebell Training Fundamentals', comes in. Taco is a man who is interested not just in being fit and healthy, but in digging deep and assimilating the underlying principles that are involved. As someone who has more than 12 years of experience with his own kettlebell training, and having also spent a long time training others, he is ideally suited to demystify the most important aspects of kettlebell training for the beginner. 'Beginner' here means beginner to kettlebells, and not necessarily to the fitness world, since there is scope even those who have spent many years training in other methodologies to go wrong when starting with kettlebells. The reason is that the philosophy of kettlebell training is different from that of other modalities. Besides, it has its own idiosyncracies, and terms employed in the context of kettlebells, even when named the same as with other methods, are often very different when it comes to execution (e.g. hook grip for the kettlebell is different from that of the barbell, although the name is the same). In this book it is very evident that Taco has made painstaking efforts to think from the perspective of the newcomer, and taken nothing for granted. Pretty much every question you might have, if you are new to kettlebells, is answered here. Not only answered, but the reasoning behind it is explained in detail, with explanations that go into biomechanics and human physiology, with appropriate diagrams where relevant, so that technical terms (such as those relating to muscular anatomy, or to the physics of the trajectory of the kettlebell while performing exercises) are easily understood. You will learn not only the what, but also the why, and the how, and the when. Taco gently guides you along the way, starting from why you would even want to train with kettlebells, to selecting your first kettlebell, to the selection of exercises, to the warmup sequence, to the performance of exercises, to the progressions. Another thing I liked very much was the detailed section on the various grips of the kettlebell. This section is amazingly detailed, and to my knowledge this is the first work with such an analysis of this aspect of the kettlebell. There are tons of photos and step-by-step explanations, and links to videos where such would be more effective than written explanations. If you get injured, Taco provides a very helpful guide to understand from the specific pain you experience (such as in the shoulder, or in the forearm), what could be wrong with your technique of lifting. Finally, Taco is evidently passionate about kettlebells, but not infatuated with them without reason. He is honest and tells us why he likes them, and at the same time he also keeps up practice with other disciplines, such as martial arts, CrossFit, etc. Thus he has a holistic view of fitness, and is not just an expert on this particular tool. You will learn a lot from his book. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Taco Fleur gave me a copy of his book for review purposes, and for that I am so grateful. Over the past year I have developed a serious Kettle bell addiction, and this guide is so awesome at revealing proper technique and some of the finer points that don't get covered a lot. The intricacies of different grips is very detailed and not something that the typical Men's Fitness magazines ordinarily discuss. After signing up for a 300 Kettle bell Swing per day challenge, this book could not have come at a better time. Thanks, Taco!

Each movement was broken down into as many little steps as possible and illustrated by numerous photos and videos from different angles. Every lesson ended with a practical exam where you have to demonstrate the skills you acquired by filming your technique. Despite being busy, Taco provided good feedback on form relatively quickly after submitting practical assignments and answered email inquiries promptly and helpfully. I can certainly recommend this course to anyone looking to master the fundamentals of kettlebell training.

I'm a man, 62 years of age, whom has warded off imminent knee replacement surgery through the strengthening of surrounding muscles. I discovered Taco Fleur and Cavemantraining six months ago and I became impressed on several levels. Through his approach to kettlebell training and his tutorials on Youtube, I have been able to understand, learn and execute these exercises. For me, Taco Fleur represents and mainstreams the discipline of kettlebell training. I have read and have found his training manual to be concise, comprehensive and utilitarian (Taco Fleur does not disappoint). For anyone seriously interested in pursuing this discipline; this training manual is a must have. Thank you Taco.
