KETTLEBELL BOOKS

Kettlebell Simple & Sinister by Pavel Tsatsouline

StrongFirst. Compared from the 2013 edition; the 2019 second edition is on Amazon.

Asked on 14 October 2026 why people recommend this book, six AI engines all named the same four things: two exercises, the swing and the Turkish get-up; 20 to 30 minutes a session; a foundation that does not interfere with other training; and full body from a few high-value lifts. Five of the six also named minimal equipment and space, clear standards, and technique and safety.

Asked on 8 October 2026 for the best kettlebell book for beginners, ChatGPT and Claude both ranked it first.

Is the Turkish get-up a beginner exercise?

Not when it is loaded. The loaded get-up needs four kettlebell exercises learned first, a kettlebell chest press, a stable overhead hold, a windmill and an overhead reverse lunge, which makes it advanced. The bodyweight get-up is where a beginner can start.
